details
The top that earns permanent residency in your rotation.
Built from 100% merino wool, the Adult Merino Iksplorer Long Sleeve does what no synthetic layer can. It regulates temperature naturally, wicks moisture before you notice it, and resists odour through days of wear. Wear it under a mid layer on the mountain, as a standalone top on the trail in spring, as a sleep shirt in a chilly tent, or under a cardigan for a day in town. Most Iksplor families find they are reaching for it almost every single day once it lands in their wardrobe.
The thumb holes keep sleeves where they belong under gloves and jackets. The extra length tucks in properly without riding up. And the fit is designed to work both ways — flattering enough to wear on its own, fitted enough to layer cleanly underneath something else.
Sizing note: The Iksplorer Long Sleeve fits with a relaxed cut. For a fitted base layer feel, size down. For a looser everyday top, stay true to size.

better for the planet
Merino comes from our wooly friends, the merino sheep. Unlike polyester and synthetic fabrics that sit in landfills for hundreds of years, this top composts in six months instead. It's 100% natural merino wool, renewable and biodegradable from sheep to soil.
good to know
Is this really 100% merino wool?
Yes. Made from 100% RWS certified merino wool.
Will it itch?
No. Superfine merino fibers feel soft against skin, not scratchy like traditional wool.
Is it safe for newborn skin?
Yes. At 18.9 microns, the fibers are fine enough to bend rather than poke, which is what makes merino feel soft rather than scratchy. It's gentle on most sensitive skin from day one.
Can I wear this on its own, or just as a base layer?
Both. It's soft enough to sleep in, technical enough to ski in, and works as a standalone top or an underlayer when temperatures drop.
Does it run true to size?
The Iksplorer Long Sleeve fits with a relaxed cut and runs long through the body and sleeves. For a fitted base layer feel, size down. For a looser everyday top, stay true to size.
What happens when we're done with it?
Resell it through Iksplor More and give it a second life with another family. Or compost it. 100% merino biodegrades in months, not centuries.

I have this base layer shirt in 4 different colors. Living in the colorado mountains I can't say enough good things about this shirt! I have nordic skiied, downhill skiied, ran >15 miles in this and just been a mom for everyday activities! I really can't recommend it enough. It is worth the price as it can just become a very important staple in your closet! 10/10 recommend!
Love the merino sets from Iksplor! They help keep my daughter appropriately warm and cozy in colder weather and even on the kayaks in the sun! I also enjoy the tops for me when hiking to keep my temperature regulated!
The perfect fit! I have worn the women's large with both pregnancies now (and while not) and will use the nursing tops again to. My favorite merino wool layer on the market! 10/10 for softness, length and fit.
We're stoked. My son can wear this for a long time as I bought it a little large but I know the quality and it will hold up for years as he grows through it.
The weight of the fabric is perfect for fall-spring wear and cooler days in summer. So soft and cozy, I often use mine as a sleep shirt in my chilly house. The quality is excellent! My 8 year old granddaughter adores her set, and while I love the color green, I am still waiting for the adult top to be available in hot pink so we can “match.” Also, your customer service is outstanding. Thank you for your wonderful products and service.
Love the top!
Not too long to leave untucked but stays in place when tucked in.
Arm length perfect for either “glove” option with the thumb hole or normal.
Not itchy (huge plus).
Washes well (cold in a protective bag, air dry on clothes rack).
I wear it both as an underlayer during the cold or as a simple top by itself.
Great product!
Absolutely love my iksplor long sleeve top! I have the black that I wear working, as pajamas, skiing, and know that I will be using it all summer camping and adventuring as well. Will be buying more!
Fits true to size - I bought a S and XS since I wasn’t sure if there would be room to grow. I’m typically a XS on top. Both still fit over halfway through pregnancy and they’re basically all I wear. There’s plenty of room to grow still and it doesn’t seem stretched out.
Great fit! Most baselayers feel short on me but this is long and the sleeves are long and I really want to wear it always! It's soft and comfortable and although I live in a mild climate it's just perfect for cool days when I am in between wanting to put a jacket on or now. Seriously so happy with this purchase! I love it just as much as I love the toddler one for my son.
We've been wearing Iksplor layers for a few years and I was so excited when adult base layers finally landed! The base layer top is soft and warm and I've definitely had a few days hiking when I'm almost TOO warm, which never happens for me as I'm always cold. The torso is nice and long, and the sleeves are long enough to let the thumb holes be comfortable while I move my arms around and not restrictive.
I ordered this for my daughter in law. She was over the moon both about the thumb loops and also the fact that it was cut long. She is very, very happy with the shirt.
