Lightweight, breathable, and built for the trail.

The Merino Wool & Tencel Trail Socks are the pair that earns a permanent spot in every pack. Warm enough for cold mornings, breathable enough for warm ones, and soft enough that even the most sock-resistant kids wear them without complaint.

  • Merino & Tencel blend: lightweight warmth with enhanced breathability and moisture-wicking
  • Stay-put fit: don't slip down, don't leave marks, don't bunch
  • Naturally odor-resistant: worn for 3 days on a Zion backpacking trip without a complaint
  • Sensory-friendly: soft enough for kids who normally refuse socks
  • Crew length: protects ankles and shins on the trail
details Plus

The Merino Wool & Tencel Trail Socks are the pair your whole family reaches for first. The merino and tencel blend delivers something rare: lightweight warmth that actually breathes. Your feet stay dry, comfortable, and fresh whether you're hiking, travelling, or just wearing them around the house.

The fit is exactly right. They stay up without slipping, without leaving marks, and without feeling tight. Crew length means ankle and shin protection on cold mornings and brushy trails. And because merino naturally resists odour, one pair goes a long way. Customers have worn them across multi-day backpacking trips without a single complaint.

Soft enough for sensory-sensitive kids who normally refuse socks. Durable enough to outlast every cheap wool sock you've tried before. Sized from 3 months through adult, so the whole crew can match on the trail.

Pro tip: go bright. These socks are worth finding in the laundry.

what parents are saying

good to know

Why merino and tencel? Plus

Merino handles temperature regulation and odour resistance. Tencel adds breathability and a silky-soft feel neither fiber can do alone. Together, they do more than either one on its own."

Will they itch sensitive feet? Plus

No. Tencel is naturally soft and smooth, so paired with merino these socks feel silky against even sensitive skin.

How do I care for them? Plus

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with mild or wool-specific detergent. Lay flat to dry to preserve the fit, or tumble dry low.

Are these good for everyday wear or just the trail? Plus

Warm without being thick and stay-put without being tight, so they work for hiking, everyday play, or lounging around at home.

Perfect socks for an Alaskan hike. My baby’s feet stay dry and the perfect temperature from start to finish 🏔️❤️

The only socks that don’t fall off your baby! Im convinced they put a little magic in these socks. Worth the purchase. That also make them in adult sizes. I love mine too.

Customer photo review of Merino Tencel Trail Socks — 2 Pack

My kiddo really loves these socks. They are crazy thick like some wool socks she has, but according to her they’re just as warm. Recently on a backpacking trip she wore them. Her sleeping bag is rated five degrees higher than mine. My feet were a bit chilly so I opened some hot hands and tried to put them at the foot of her bag. She declined saying her feet were already toasty. Even in more expensive wool socks of my own and a sleeping bag rated for lower temps, I needed the hot hands at the foot. Anecdotal evidence of these socks being the best? Maybe. But they also come in fun colors. According to my kid that’s more important than anything else anyway. Also of note, the socks fit true to size. Even on my string bean kiddo who was born with skis for feet.

We’re so excited that they had socks that will fit my husband! They have a great amount of stretch, and super durable, comfortable, have the right amount of compression, and warmth. Iksplor socks for the whole fam!

The perfect pair of wool socks for everyday wear and big adventures. We got some in the past and loved them, so we had to get more! They’re super durable, comfortable, and warm without being too thick, plus they provide a nice level of compression. My son had to put them on right out of the package. Thanks Iksplor!

We love our iksplor socks! They have held up on countless adventures already and they’re the perfect balance between lightweight, warmth, and compression. They’re so comfy and don’t fall apart like other cheap wool socks I’ve purchased in the past.

Customer photo review of Merino Wool & Tencel Trail Socks (Set of 2)

My kids love these so much! Our family did a 3 day backpacking trip in Zion and the socks were worn for much of the day and night. We all hike in sandals and I often have struggles persuading my youngest to wear his socks but on this trip he happily wore them the entire day without a single complaint! And as always I love the colors! The kids are so cute in their favorite iksplor colors running down the trail. Not to mention photos of them are somehow more captivating with all the cute colors ☺️

Store owner replied: SOOO awesome! We're so glad you and your kiddos love the socks!

Customer photo review of Trail Socks – Merino Wool + Tencel – 2-Pack - All Ages

After washing the brand new socks I was disappointed to see that they came out looking so rough. There wasn’t anything attached to the socks but the material itself seemed to like it was roughed up and piled in spots. The socks will work but for the cost, it was unfortunate to see the product have such a hard time holding up for one wash.

Customer photo review of kid merino wool midweight socks

My kids live in the iksplor merino base layers, socks and hats all winter long! Our baby sizes and adventure zippies have all been handed down to little sis and are in as good of condition as the day we bought them! I have every base layer from 0 months -3T as well as hats and socks. And as avid winter fisherman and skiers, they have all been used extensively. Seriously the best base layers for kids ever.

Customer photo review of kid merino wool socks

I am so impressed with these socks. They are well made, VERY warm and stay on (as best a toddler will keep them on) These are socks I would trust for myself in the cold and am happy to have found them for my little one.

Customer photo review of kid merino wool socks

I love this sock company & have purchased from them directly several times. This is the first time the sock showed so much wear after literally just one use. Thread pulls and disintegrating around the heel and toe. We haven’t tried the other pairs we bought in this same order so I’m hoping it’s not just a bad batch.

Customer photo review of Q is for Quinn Merino Wool Socks

My son Otto, 14 months, wearing the baby iksplor set in 12-24 months. He's a big boy and fit better in the size 2T. Thankfully we bought one of each size... and wore them both!

Customer photo review of Merino Wool Baby, Toddler and Kids Socks - Half Stripe

I love the color, fit and style of these socks! They did keep my son's feet more temp regulated. They did wear through fairly quickly on the bottom, like within 2-3 weeks.

Merino Wool Baby, Toddler and Kids Socks - Half Stripe

Store owner replied: Hi Christine, Thank you for your order! Can you send us photos of how they wore through? We would like to share that with the manufacturer. Thanks, Karissa

Brought these on my 18 month old’s first backpacking trip in the high sierra. They were great. Kept his feet happy for 5 days in the trail!

Natural Fiber Trail Socks — 2 Pack

I haven't got to try them out in real cold temps yet, but after one wash, they are really tight (and I got my 10 month old a size 2!). I washed according to instructions so I'm not sure if they were just tight before washing? I didn't try them on before washing because I just always wash clothing before trying them on the baby.

Natural Fiber Trail Socks — 2 Pack

Soft, well-fitting socks for a June hiking trip to Switzerland. Feel like they will be warm enough for the cold nights and cool enough for hiking during the day.

Natural Fiber Trail Socks — 2 Pack

Our entire family loves these socks, my husband normally sticks to "hunting brands" for his outdoor gear- I stuck a pair of these in his stocking last Christmas and he LOVES them. My three boys love them because they're warm and not thick and itchy. I love them because they come in hot pink- so nobody is trying to steal my socks!

Natural Fiber Trail Socks — 2 Pack

These socks are so fun with their colors and the tall fit is great for hiking boots. My kiddos like how thin these socks are. I would recommend using them in summer, but in winter you will need thicker socks or multiple layers if you are somewhere with super cold weather like we are (Alaska). When ordering I’d keep in mind that they run tighter. If you like the super roomy barefoot style, I’d order up as size. 😁

Merino Tencel Trail Socks — 2 Pack

These are my daughter's new favorite hiking socks. She loves the bright colors, and I love that her feet won't overheat or get too sweaty.

Store owner replied: Thank you for the review Felicia!

Our whole family uses their socks and absolutely loves them! They are comfortable for a full day of exploring!

Merino Wool & Tencel Trail Socks (2 Sets)

Store owner replied: We love hearing this!

My kids have these socks already so when I saw they make adult women’s, I had to snag a matching pair for myself! I love them already and since they’re the same great quality as my kids, I know they’ll be great. We love these socks!

Merino Wool & Tencel Trail Socks (2 Sets)

The socks are fabulous! I purchased just to add to my order of balaclavas but SO glad I did! The feel is comfortable for sensory, sensitive kids and the length is perfect to protect little ankles and shins in the cold and/or snow!

Merino Wool & Tencel Trail Socks (Set of 2)

Store owner replied: That’s awesome to hear. Thanks for trusting us to keep little feet comfy and warm!

Love! Not only are these socks super cute, but they stay on. I’ve also been putting them on her when she naps, and she has been sleeping longer! Definitely need all the colors.

Merino Wool & Tencel Trail Socks (Set of 2)

Store owner replied: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback! We're thrilled our socks are keeping you warm and comfy!

Gotta keep those toes warm ! Love these socks.

Merino Wool & Tencel Trail Socks (Set of 2)

Store owner replied: We love hearing this! Yes, keeping those little toes warm is so important, we are so glad you love these socks!

We love these socks! They are soft, don’t slip down while wearing, but also aren’t so tight that the leave marks. My only advice - do yourself a favor and get a BRIGHT pair. I’ve “ lost”the pair of navy blue ones about a dozen times in the few months since ordering, and you don’t want to be losing expensive baby socks - caught in other clothes, in a dark corner, etc. We just ordered a pair of the pinks but I’d love to see these in the bright yellow or orange!!

Merino Wool & Tencel Trail Socks (Set of 2)

Got these socks for my 1 year old son (size 1-2 yr) and they are wonderful. Such high quality! Using them under boots this fall in the Pacific Northwest.

Merino Wool & Tencel Trail Socks (Set of 2)

I just received the merino & tencel socks and they have become my go-to-pair. They are surprisingly lightweight for a wool blend, but still feel comfortable throughout the day. The crew length is just right, staying in place without slipping or feeling tight. What I love the most is that my feet don't get sweaty in them. The merino and tencel blend does a superb job of regulating temperature and wicking moisture, so your feet stay dry. Whether you are walking, working or just relaxing. If you want socks that are breathable, comfortable and naturally odor resistant. I highly recommend these socks

Merino Wool & Tencel Trail Socks (Set of 2)

Super warm and cozy with the cushion heels. Also love that they have grippers!! They run larger for sure but we don't mind that in the slightest. Kids get to wear them longer:))

kid merino wool midweight socks

These socks are the real deal! They are so soft and at first I didn't think they'd keep my tootsies warm because they seemed thin to me, but they've got me sweating!! My feet are always the first to get cold and these have been a life saver. Just waiting for my next paycheck to buy another pair!!

grown up merino wool socks

Super cozy socks. They’re on the thicker side so make sure your little ones boots have a bit of growing room. My 3 year old wears size 9 boots and the size 4-6yr socks fit her well with lots of growing room.
