Baby Merino Wool Legging
Soft, stretchy, and stays put.

The Baby Merino Legging goes wherever your baby goes: from morning hikes to nap time, from base layer under a snow suit to standalone outfit on a mild day.

  • Full-length merino coverage: warm little legs without the bulk
  • Temperature-regulating merino: warm when it's cold, breathable when it's not
  • No tags: nothing to scratch, nothing to irritate sensitive skin
  • Naturally odor-resistant: stays fresh through multi-day adventures
  • Machine washable: because parents have enough to do
details Plus

The Baby Merino Legging is the bottom half of your baby's go-to adventure kit. Made from 100% merino wool, it's soft enough for sensitive skin, breathable enough for warm days, and cozy enough for cold nights.

Merino regulates temperature naturally, so your baby stays comfortable whether you're hiking in the heat or layering under a snow suit in the cold. It wicks moisture before they notice it, resists odors after a long day out, and comes out of the wash looking brand new.

Wear it as a base layer under a bunting on ski days, or on its own with the Baby Merino Long Sleeve for mild weather hikes, camping trips, and everything in between. No tags means nothing to scratch or irritate sensitive skin all day, and all night.

what parents are saying

good to know

Is this really 100% merino wool? Plus

Yes, 100% Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified merino wool. No blends, no synthetic fillers, just the real thing.

Won't wool feel itchy or irritate my baby's sensitive skin? Plus

Not with this merino. Superfine merino fibers are soft enough for sensitive newborn skin, with none of the itch people associate with old-school wool sweaters.

Will this keep my baby comfortable in both hot and cold weather? Plus

Yes. Merino regulates temperature naturally, so these work as a warm layer in the cold and stay breathable enough for warmer days too.

Will the wide waistband dig in or feel too tight? Plus

No. It's designed to sit comfortably at the waist without pinching or leaving marks, even through car seat straps and diaper changes.

What happens when my baby outgrows it? Can I resell it? Plus

Yes. Send it back through Iksplor More for cash or credit when your little one sizes up, giving it a second life with another adventurer.

Got the size 3-6 hoping to use these all summer for sun protection with my little guy born a couple weeks ago! Love how lightweight and breathable they are, and right now, they are long enough to roll over his feet, but they stay cuffed nicely. They also currently fit well over his cloth diapers.

Best brand we've found for our kids! I can't recommend this brand enough to my outdoorsy friends. The quality alone is worth every penny. We got our 18 month the 12-24 month size and its perfect.

These base layers are great for every day play and adventuring! They keep our baby warm and comfortable in all environments (even naps). The lilac color is beautiful and so soft and somehow it comes clean after it is covered in all kinds of food.

Customer video review of Baby Long Sleeve & Legging Set – 100% Merino Wool - Baselayer

We love iksplor merino wool! Although I think sizing for this set might run on the small side. I got the 6-12 month two piece set for my daughter when she outgrows her 3-6 month zippy. Even though she falls smack in the middle of the measurements (at 20lbs and 27.5”) in the 6-12 month size as a very chonky 7.5 mo, they are already tight on her. The zippy is *almost* too small for her at this point as well, but it still fits her. Just something to keep in mind if you plan to buy both sets!

Customer photo review of Baby Long Sleeve – 100% Merino Wool Baselayer - New!

I was so happy that Iksplor came out with a Tshirt! Their fabrics are so easy to wash and dry and they really hold up to babies (and toddlers!) constant activity! The neck on this shirt is especially nice as it slides easily over baby’s head. I ordered a size 12-24 months for my baby who wears a 9-12 month size is most other brands. It fits loosely now, but I know baby will grow into it!

Customer photo review of baby iksplorer set

I think this set is really cute, and it seems pretty warm for my toddler, but it's already piling before I've even washed it one time. So I'm not sure if I would buy or recommend.

baby iksplorer set

Store owner replied: Hi Jennifer! Thanks so much for sharing your feedback—we totally understand your concern. Pilling can be a common occurrence with high-quality merino wool, especially when it’s brand new. The good news is that it tends to reduce over time and with a few washes! If you’d like, a quick touch-up with a sweater shaver can keep your set looking fresh and smooth. Please feel free to reach out to us at letsgo@iksplor.com if you have any questions or need help with this. We're here to make sure you and your little one love every adventure in Iksplor! Thank you! Customer photo review of baby iksplorer set

This is a great 12-24 mo set that is well-worn by our little one! It is his go to travel set, and always wears it on the airplane. As others mentioned, it is on the thinner side, which is nice for the spring/summer as a natural sun-shirt/pants but it also means holes in the knees and such appear after a few months of wear. We got merino patches and now cotton twill patches to cover the holes and the set is still going strong!

baby iksplorer set

Store owner replied: Hi Sydney, Thanks so much for your feedback! I am glad you're enjoying the layers into the spring/summer season and you were able to patch them! Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience with others and for the adorable photo! Team Iksplor

Customer photo review of baby iksplorer set

I bought this for my LO when he was 8 months for camping and travel. I loved it, so cute and the color was really nice and bright. I bought size 12-24 months thinking it would last longer and I could get more use out of it. Unfortunately the top only fit until about 12 months and the band of the pants seems tight now that’s he’s 18 months. My LO is about an average size baby. I think the sizing runs small/the sizing is off and should be bigger. It’s disappointing because these are expensive and only lasted one camping season when I was expecting to get a lot more use out of it.

baby iksplorer set

Store owner replied: Hi Sahar! Thanks so much for providing this honest feedback. We are continually looking at how we can improve our sizing. I am also happy to offer you a discount off the next size up. Can you send us a email at letsgo@iksplor.com and we will make sure you're a happy camper! We know merino is a investment and really hate when it doesn't work out just as you hoped. Cheers! Karissa

Customer photo review of baby iksplorer set

Overall we are absolutely thankful and in love with the thermal wool underwear for lie kiddo. We have four colors; yellow, blue, green, and navy. We live in a cold climate (Minnesota) and this has been his go-to PJ’s, under clothes at home And when we go out. He wears it each day. And it assures me my babe is warm in these cold 🥶 months. The only issue I have is how THIN they are and prone to tears. 2 out of the 4 sets have holes in them- in the wrist area where the seams are for the hand-cover, and in the knees- they wear out quickly if crawling. I now make sure baby does not crawl In them before putting on another layer of pants. But overall, I am disattisifed with the THINNESS but that will likely not prevent me from buying more as baby grows. It’s a great thermal layer! 🧡

Store owner replied: Thank you for the great review and helpful feedback Elena. I am happy to get you some patches to help you with the repairs if that is helpful!

Customer photo review of baby iksplorer set

The perfect base layer for winter layering and the perfect outfit for playing or sleeping. I will be buying iksplor merino for my kiddo at every size. My only complaint is that they sell out!

baby iksplorer set

Store owner replied: Love this so much! Thank you!

Customer photo review of baby iksplorer set

I have the base layer for my 10 month old in 5 different colors. We use it for everything! He sleeps in them and it’s a base layer for house and when we go out. I do not let him crawl in it. The material is fairly thin- he out holes in the first set first day from crawling. Also after a few months wear holes appeared in the sleeves where the fold-out is for finger coverings. So that was disappointing; for the price I expected them to be thicker. But I have found anything to replace with. We have the blanket, socks, and two hats for baby too.

baby iksplorer set

Store owner replied: Thank you so much for the review Elena. We will reach out with possible solutions for the holes you are experiencing. We're sorry this happened, our pieces are thinner for year round use, the zippy is thicker fabric and less prone to holes. We always recommend using a play pant over the layers to protect them. Thank you so much for being a great customer and sharing your useful feedback!

Customer photo review of baby iksplorer set

I'm not sure why I packed so many extra clothes for my 8mo old while car camping. These are my go to for hiking adventures because I know he'll stay warm, but won't overheat. This is especially a concern when I'm wearing him in my ergo or any other carrier where I'm transferring body heat.

Great quality, double seam stitching, well made and well fitting. Love that the top has the fold over mitts to keep the newborn from scratching her face. Baby sleeps so well in this outfit since it is temperature regulating.

Customer photo review of baby iksplorer set

Love the quality of the clothing. Well made and will last a long time. However I had to pay an extra $16 upon receiving it, that I was not previously told about nor expecting. It took 6 weeks to arrive because I live in Canada. I ordered 12-24 months and it fits my grand of 17 months with plenty of room for growth but she is on the smallest size for her age; about 22 lbs.

Store owner replied: Hi Karen, We apologize you were charged $16 and we are happy to refund that amount to you. We're so glad you're loving them! Karissa

Customer photo review of baby iksplorer set

We are obsessed!! I was hesitant to buy because of the price but we are a camping/hiking family and live in the Midwest so I had to. I am so happy with our babies merino wool base layers! My girl has already worn hers camping and even for walks around our neighborhood in her stroller now that temperatures have dropped. We were extra happy when we saw it has handmitts because this 1 year old will not keep mittens on. She is so cozy and we can stay outside longer when she is in her little set.

This is the best picture I have so far… please don’t mind the messy house and low quality photo, just momming over here. I love this merino wool fabric. It truly gives me peace of mind putting her to bed. I used to always thinks she was waking up from being too cold or hot and now I don’t worry about that so much.

We LOVE this set! I got the 3-6m size for my newborn, and he’s fit in it great from newborn through 6-9m size. He wears it our entire week long camping trips. I take a some wool wash to wash if he has a blowout or spit up, let it air dry and put it right back on him! I love how soft it is, and the color is so bright and fun! Snow, rain, heat….this set is made for it all and will keep the little ones comfy!

Fielding’s first tent camp in Sitka, AK! Her half year birthday was on the summer solstice, and we were able to sneak in the adventure the following weekend. Temps got down to the 50’s over night, just chilly enough for the base layers, beanie and merino wool socks to do what they do best! She loved it!
